Thistle collected all three points with a comfortable victory over their Highland rivals Ross County.

Thistle showed their intention as early as the third minute when Leigh Hinds' 20- yard shot was deflected for a corner.

County struck back immediately and Gary McSwegan should have done better when he latched on to a long clearance but shot weakly straight at Kenny Arthur.

Thistle began to take control of the game and there were chances for Juan Ramon Escalas and Jamie Mitchell before they took the lead after 13 minutes with a goal that would grace any stage. Steve Fulton combined with Billy Gibson and when his pass found Escalas, he turned and shot high into the net from 16 yards.

Thistle doubled their lead two minutes later when Hinds beat Mark McCulloch on the touch line and cut the ball back for Escalas to score his second from six yards.

County did try to create some chances at the start of the second half, but their inability to clear their lines resulted in Thistle's third goal after 53 minutes.

Adrian Madasch's goalbound header was half cleared off the line by Don Cowie and when the ball was played back in, Madaschi was unmarked at the far post and volleyed home.

Ross County kept trying and Arthur had to be at his best after 57 minutes to parry a Cowie shot round the post. Both sides had further chances and Arthur saved from Sean Higgins and then from substitute Steven McGarry.

With the game petering out, Thistle scored their fourth after 88 minutes when Armand One ran through a demoralised County defence to fire home from eight yards.
