The points were shared in this combative derby which featured everything except any goals.

Thistle took the game immediately to Clyde and Jamie Mitchell shot over. Then the same player was disappointed to see his curled 16-yard effort go just the wrong side of the far post.

The derby atmosphere seemed to get to the players, and after seven minutes Leigh Hinds and Billy Gibson were both booked for their part in an incident which saw players from both sides jostling each other. Clyde thought they had taken the lead after 11 minutes, but Scott Wilson's tap-in was ruled off side.

Clyde continued to press forward and after 24 minutes Andrew Dowie presented Aaron Conway with a clear run on goal. It was left to goalkeeper Kenny Arthur to produce a brilliant save to keep the scores level.

The second half began with Clyde on top and Arthur again had to be at his best to save a Gibson shot after 47 minutes. Thistle did have a chance a minute later when Adrian Madaschi should have done better than head wide from only seven yards.

Clyde responded, and after 52 minutes Eddie Malone crossed for Aron Wilford but his 10-yard header was tipped over the bar by Arthur.

Thistle thought they should have had a penaly after 60 minutes when Mitchell was bundled over in the box, but the referee waved their appeals away.

Late efforts from Steve Fulton for Thistle and Alex Walker for Clyde did nothing to change the result.
