Vigurs seals County win

Iain Vigurs scored the only goal of the game to give Ross County a 1-0 win at Partick.

Midfielder Vigurs drilled home a superb 25-yard effort midway through the first-half to clinch all three points for the visitors.

County had almost taken the lead in the 20th minute, but striker Colin McMenamin could only volley his effort from inside the area over the crossbar.

Having put his side in front after 26 minutes, Vigurs went close to doubling the visitors' lead on the hour mark, but Partick goalkeeper Ryan Scully did well to block his effort.

Thistle came within a few inches of grabbing an 89th-minute equaliser through striker Kris Doolan, who saw his long-range volley parried away by goalkeeper Michael Fraser.
