Marc Smyth went into the offices on Friday afternoon to complete the paperwork on his move to Firhill before jetting off on holiday. Marc is delighted to finally conclude the deal that sees him join up on a three year deal:

"I am delighted to be here. I was always confident that it was a deal that would go through despite it taking so long, but now that I am here I can't wait for the season to start.

There were several other clubs looking to sign me but once I had spoken to Dick Campbell there was no doubt where my future lay. Even on the day I signed a First Division side came in for me but by then I had agreed to come to Thistle.

I have been asked what I liked most about Thistle and I have been told by friends that it is a big club and I am very pleased to give the Thistle fans a chance to see what I can offer. I like to think that my passing and defending are my strengths and I can play in a couple of positioins but the manager has indicated that he sees me playing in defence. Now I am just going to focus ion the job in hand which is taking Thistle back up the leagues."
