I want to be Jags One and Only

In an interview with the Evening Times, new Thistle forward Armand One has spoke of his intentions of becoming a fans favourite at Firhill.

ARMAND ONE has asked the Partick Thistle support to be patient as he bids to make a starting slot in the Jags' attack his own.
The giant striker landed a six month deal after impressing in a 66 minute run out against Fulham last week but says it will take time to prove he is the One.
The 21-year-old said: "It was great to get the game against Fulham but I know I can do a lot better.
"I have had no pre-season and it was tough playing in that match - everyone was a lot further on in their preparation than I was. But it was important for me to do well, and I think the fact I have been given a six month deal shows it went okay.
"While I can win the ball in the air or take it into my feet, at the moment I am just not fit enough to play the way I can.
"But I will work very hard to get to the level of fitness that are needed. I think it will possibly take about two months to get tuned up enough to show the support my best form."
The 6ft 4in striker signed for Cambridge in a £30,000 deal from French cracks Nantes in 2001, before enjoying loan spells at Northampton, Wrexham and Conference side Tamworth. Now One is looking forward to life north of the border.
He said: "I played for four seasons with Nantes before going on to Cambridge for three years, and while I was there I was on loan to Northampton before returning back to France at Lille.
"I only heard two weeks ago that there was a possibility I would come to Partick Thistle, and that they were interested in me.
"I knew about Scottish football from my time in England, where I watched the Old Firm play. I did see Partick Thistle play Celtic last season so I knew a bit about them."
One has already been impressed by the passion of the Firhill faithful.
He said: "It was great to get introduced to the fans on Saturday at half-time. I felt the warmth of their applause and I was not surprised, because in France we always like the Scottish."
The French frontman has also been impressed by the team that Jags co-bosses Whyte and Britton are building.
One said: "I thought the team played very well against Brechin on Saturday. The managers have the side trying to play passing football and that is the way I like it.
"I saw that against Fulham on Wednesday when I got a run out, but it was good to be able to watch the whole game on Saturday and see how the pattern of play shaped up.
"I Like the look of Ramon - he is a very good player. He has a great left foot and I sense he is a quick thinker. I am certainly looking forward to playing with him and the rest of the team."
The king-sized hit-man, who speaks fluent English, added: "In England people always say how physical Scottish football is but I have seen plenty of skill here.
"I am excited at my new start with Partick Thistle."
Meanwhile, Thistle will take on Kilmarnock in a closed door game later today with both One, fellow new signing Leigh Hinds and Raul Gutierrez, a Spanish trialist midfielder,
featuring.
Jags co-boss Derek Whyte reckons his side are shaping up well."We are close to having competition for every position and that is vital when you are building a squad," he said.
"Today's game will give Armand the chance to build up his match fitness and we will also give Leigh Hinds and Raul Gutierrez a run out.
"We were pleased with the game against Brechin, now we want to build on that."
