Dowies Fears

After some impressive performances in the pre-season friendlies and Brechin, it was a shame he hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons in Sundays papers after his red card in the 2-1 defeat against rivals Clyde. He spoke to the official site about his fears of not winning back his place in the side :
"I thought we started the game very well but we did not take our chances and sadly for myself what happened happened and hopefully I can get over that and go on and have a good season for myself and the team. I have settled in very quickly which is good given that the only player that I knew before I came here was Billy Gibson, but all the lads have made me feel very welcome and that is why I have settled in so quickly.

With me being suspended for Saturday I will just need to hope that I can get back into the side when I am free from suspension. Andy Wilkinson has done very well too so hopefully the management will look to me when my suspension is up, but we will just have to wait and see.

The rest of the defence have done well so I think we will be fairly solid this season. Grant Murray is an excellent player to have alongside you as he talks you through it and makes it as easy as possible throughout the 90 minutes. I am confident though that we can put Saturday behind us and go on and do well in the First Division this season."
