Stewart Kean's goal helped Queen of the South leapfrog Partick Thistle in the First Division table and close the gap on league leaders Dundee. The match was goalless until 54 minutes when a Bob Harris cross was headed in by Kean to give Queens the lead.
Thistle almost equalised when Alan Archibald headed a corner over and Martyn Corrigan's right-footed shot rattled the Queens bar in injury time.
But Queens held on for the three points and kept their title hopes alive.
