Gibby ready for the diamonds

Having enjoyed their break away, the players and management are ready for action again as they face up to Airdrie United this Saturday. The last two encounters with them have certainly thrown up a lot of talking points, the first at Firhill being very close indeed, and the match at New Broomfield being very controversial. The players are certainly ready for the test with Billy Gibson knowing that we cannot afford any complacency after some good results:

"One thing we cannot do is think that the job is done. We must continue to show the same spirit and determination that has been evident over the past few games, and if we do that then there is no reason why we cannot continue in the same manner. The games against Airdrie United have been great matches this season with a bit of controversy as well and hopefully the fans will really enjoy the game. They have some very good players and of course Owen Coyle has been a very big scorer for them against us in the past and he will have to watched very closely.

The arrival of a few new players will also help to keep us on our toes and the manager has plenty of choice now for all positions and to that end we know that if we let our standards slip then there is every likelyhood that we will lose our places in the team, and I am just back in the side and don't intend to lose it.

The spirit within the side is very high at the moment and hopefully we can take that onto the pitch which certainly helps us when the games get underway." Interview Taken from the Partick Thistle offical site
