The pre-season campaign went from really bad to worse when we were comprehensively thumped by Brechin today.

With Fleming, Smyth, and Billy Gibson on the injury list, Campbell fielded three trialisits. Defenders Willie Lyle and Scott McCulloch, and midfielder Scott Chaplain (all Ayr) started the game, but it didn't help improve the poor run the team has been on.

Thistle started the game playing well for, but conceded two, and also had two penalty shouts turned down, both involving Ricky Gillies.

Things didn't improve in the second half, they got worse as the Thislte conceded two more, and a year on beating Brechin 3-0 in the cup last season.
